MISSION
STATEMENT

The Wisconsin Turfgrass Association (WTA) began with nine dedicated turf managers realizing that to solve local turf problems, research had to be done locally. The year was 1981 and the association was started and continues to have two goals.  Many of the turfgrass problems from the early years continue to be investigated today and many new inquiries join the list because turfgrass management is constantly evolving.

GOALS

1. To fund research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to study turfgrass problems that were encountered on Wisconsin golf courses, sod farms, athletic fields, cemeteries, commercial grounds, and home lawns.

2. To disseminate research findings to turfgrass professionals in order to help them manage healthier turfgrass and care for the environment.
